Hi Guys,
My Russian Tortoise Rammus (2 years old) is not really eating and my concern grows deeper every day. Here is some bad story:
I recently moved from Massachusetts to Maine (where my family is) for a month and than road tripped to Colorado with Rammus in a decent sized bin. I used to...
Haha Thanks! I was thinking about that as I was posting. I have guilt on my side. These little guys are going to love it in Colorado. Fenced in backyard that has edible plants and some sort of enclosure inside for sleeping.
Hi Guys,
I'm moving to Colorado!!!! BUT I am going on a family vacation before I start my journey! Can someone please help me and watch my 2 male Russian Tortoises for a couple days?
They are very easy to take care of and are very friendly!
So who wants to help me out...
My tortoises are stubborn and they tend to only each leafy greens. I recommend Kale (not baby Kale). They love it and could eat it for every meal but they do enjoy lettuce and mustard greens. A few times a week I will add in calcium supplement and mix it up. This way they can't detect it.
Thanks everyone for all your feedback and comments. I have decided to keep it inside for now and watch the growth. The tortoises don't seem to pay it any mind so i'm not worried about them trying to eat it. I don't think it is leafy enough for their taste. Here is a plant update:

That is very interesting. The coir i use comes in dehydrated form so who knows what was mixed in. I'm glad to see the growth because my goal was to give them a humid zone for hangouts but they don't seem to use it. I must be doing something wrong....
Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Guys!
So since we last spoke I bought another tortoise. The little guy wasn't in the best shade but he is doing great! I can see great changes in his shell after a few months of routine soaking sessions and plenty of nutrients to make the little guy recovery happily. Well, back to why I...
