Your right they just roam and browse all day because when I lay feed out your right they take a nibble then continue to roam for the next bite. No They sit there and gorge themselves until they are satisfied. Now if you spread food out all over a large area yes they will move about searching for...
My big redfoots seem to only roam about when they are hungry or breeding behavior is going on. After feeding they usually go right back under cover and just set. I think 6x4 is a decent indoor size. I mean realistically for one animal that is more than enough room if the animal is kept well fed...
I keep all my little guys outdoors in tubs. Grab yourself a concrete mixing tub throw in some cypress mulch and some hides keep it damp and humid. Then cover the whole top in some hardware cloth mesh. Either build a wood frame and attach the wire or just cover it and leave excess to anchor down...
I like the 70-20-10. Not to say greens or vegetables are bad and of course they enjoy them. Mine here in Florida seldom touch grass but I have found that they really like Dayflower for some reason over all other natural weeds.

I like him. If you can soak him each day go for it. Mine drink several times a day outside. Being your first tortoise going with an older one is the way to go in my opinion. Much more outgoing and responsive to your presence especially when hungry :D
Good price on them for sure. I would like to see more pictures of them if you could. I am looking for big females myself and have had no luck finding any.
In regards to the original Mazuri is there any reason that it should not be fed to Aldabra tortoises? Is the LS just another option or does the additional starch have any negative effects?
