I soak her once a week. Temp is 75 at the cold end and 92 under the lamp. Humidity is at about 40% the last few days.

2 year old Russian laying an egg?

Well, right after posting this I soaked her in some warm water and within minutes she was able to get it out. I don't think it's an egg based on how hard it is. Is it solid urates? How can I prevent it from happening again?

2 year old Russian laying an egg?

I just came home to find my female tortoise who is only 2 years old like this Could she be trying to push out an egg? Or could it be solid urates? Some liquid has come out and she really looks like she is straining.

    Sex of Russian tortoise

My little Vygo is almost 11 months old now. He hatched during the winter months (estimated that he hatched in late December or early January according to the breeder). I've always called him a him but I'm curious. I know it's too early to tell for sure. But what are you guys thinking? Here is a...

    Vygo's Appetite has dropped

I've got a temp gun and I didn't consider how the temps are going up with summer around the corner. Time to change bulbs out I suppose!

    Vygo's Appetite has dropped

So I left Sunday for a two night camping trip with friends and left my 4 month old Russian Vygo in the "capable" hands of my mother. I did not move him whatsoever and his lights were on a timer. I had a bag of weeds, prickly pear, and mustard greens for Monday and a bag with collards, weeds, and...

I knew all hypos are lighter in general but I wasn't sure if those little guys would darken up to look like your bigger ones of not. They are definitely lookers! And thanks for the info! :)[/IMG]

    Vygo's first optunia!

Little Vygo got his first taste of cactus today and he loves it!! He does require some help eating it though because it is almost to heavy for him to maneuver but he seems to really love it!

I got asked a strange question today..

Hehe land turtle. I love it. People look at me like I'm crazy too. I think reptile enthusiasts of any kid do.

Garden is growing! And so is Vygo!

If I could read his mind I am sure he would be squealing with joy every time he gets weeds. :D
