    I live in Las Vegas, his enclosure is covered, he lives outdoors all year round. Why do you think they should not burmate outdoors, that's what they do in the wild. He is now six years old and has been living outside for 5 years, he seems to be healthy and content.

    I saw a website that said they are safe for Russian tortoises to eat, he has had them in his enclosure for the last 3 years but never eats them. But he devours the pansies.

    No, the walls are to high for him, plus it has a screen that covers the enclosure to keep other critters from getting inside.
