Given another year, I hope that I can better tell if their names "Tut" and "Cleo" are appropriate. BTW, the smaller one is high dome of shape than the larger one but actually 3 weeks older. I am not sure if there are other elements to look at for sexing the kleinmanni.
Mine are doing fantastic - they are not disturbed and go through their daily lives as routines. Maybe boring for us human but satisfying for tortoises. I was hoping the two I have are male and female but at about 3", I was told both are females. The larger one is a little over 3" and the tail is...
mine came from John. they grow at different rate, with one starting smaller and 3 weeks younger, grow to much larger and heavier than the other. as for sexing them, I am still not positive. another year of waiting should reveal them.
They are absolutely my favorites and precious as well. They may not be as outgoing and fearless as my Russian tortoises, I found their personality to be very likable. They are also hardy than many think and what I have read before. Their small size, delicate shell pattern and shape, very clean...
Thank you all for the nice words and encouragement. It has been a while since my last post. My window well setup did not really work - actually I just gave up as I do not know if my tortoises like it or not but since they are still small, I prefer to keep them indoor with constant temp, lights...
WOW, all I can say is WOW. those are the most beautiful radiated tortoise babies, absolutely gorgeous. I have a hard time getting one like that and you have a hard time letting go of bunch. sigh...
very nice radiata you guys have there. I am curious as how much a baby radiated inherit from. Someone told me it's random - dark parents can produce high yellow baby. This is arguably the most beautiful and facinating tortoises.
I found myself appreciate more of perfect smooth shell than anything else. High yellow with smooth, high dome shell is in my view the best of radiata. But any with pyramiding loses the charm instantly.
