My life with turtles and tortoises started young, because when I was born my family owned a red eared slider, she lived for 15 years and sadly passed away due pneumonia. After that my dad (my parents got divorced when I was 6) got a Russian tortoise, but he had a sand substrate (ughhh) and got constipated and withered away at the age of 4. I had already moved away from home to study and kinda missed having a tortoise around. Then my mom rescued a 13-year-old Greek tortoise, now 16 years old and the Empress of my Soul. Her name is Pandora and I a d o r e her, kinda swore that I would never get a Greek because of the hibernating would stress me out. Pandora also suffers from MBD and it has affected her shell growth but not her curious attitude. I had dreams about owning a redfoot, but then I met a Greek tortoise baby who changed my heart. So now here I am, gone through losses and mistakes in the life of owning torts and currently willing to do ANYTHING to give my own baby the best start in life. His name is Rèmy, almost a year old (I decided he was born in Jan 1st, he is so tiny even tho his papers say he had hatched in 2019...). We live in Finland, it gets cold but I keep my baby cozy under heat and some warm, loving care. I'm here to ask questions, to learn and to attend discussions as I do have experience, but am still at the beginning of my own tortoise journey.
