I had another CherryHead (Dotty) got it before this Redfooted (Monster). When Dotty first arrived quite shy, not eating or poop well. Introduce Monster to Dotty does help, now Dotty is gangsta with its big sista bodyguard Monster.
Newspaper is definitely not the right thing to use for bedding tho can easily throw away and change new piece. You can easily find good substrate in plant nursery. I got my coco peat from plant nursery but quality may not as good as those sold in pets shop. Coco peat I bought contain many hair...
Indoor the temperature could drop below 28 degC especially at night, I would suggest to get a lamp or CHE in case need it. Humidity is one thing I didn't get ready or never thought of, once my hygrometer is delivered will do a proper survey and make sure enough moist.
