I was a friend of Doug Foster from Hogtown Herpetological, in Gainesville Fl. He tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident. Seeing his photo was startling, but brought back some wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing this.
He does look dry. I bath my guy every day. You might want to increase the humidity to at least 80%. Just my suggestion. There are a lot of people here much more knowledgable than I am about tortoise care. Maybe post a photo of your habitat.

Ok - somewhat good news. This is the reason for the prolapse to begin with - see photo. We knew with the x-rays the other day, that he had two 1 1/2 cm pebbles in his stomach. But they were not in his intestines which made it appear that he was ok with them in there, and...
No it is definitely a prolapse. Flashing doesn't last days. And the Vet is very experienced and knows what is going on. But I do appreciate the suggestion.
He's not doing too well. The Doctor who is very well known and respected as a reptile specialist (Dr. Steven Barten) put a stitch on either side to try to hold it in - but the next day he had a minor prolapse again. So Dr Barten added yet another stitch and gave him a shot of antibiotics (...
