    Close in at night

I live in a rural area in the central valley of California. I have 2, 25 + year old sulcatas (male and female, not together), both over 125 lbs. I go out to check on all my critters each evening, and they are both really good about going into their (Tom Designed) boxes before dark. Here is my...

    Safe for Sulcata to eat??

Nettles is on the weeds list above and I have a question. When I get anywhere near the plants, I get a stinging reaction, legs & hands. When my female sulcata (30 years old) got a plant mixed in with her grass, she started drooling and tried to get the sting off her tongue. Is there different...

    Help with feeding adult sucatas

    Looking for plants

I live in California and am looking for Rose of Sharon to plant and eventually feed to my sulcatas. Does anyone have any they would like to sell, give away? I need plants that are already started. Thanks in advance

My first winter while she is so active

I am surprised and had to read this twice because I don't think Tom said anything rude. It took me 20 years of raising my 2 sulcatas WRONG, to find this group, and the education and entertainment have been invaluable. People on this forum have seen lots of good and bad, so sharing their...

Chicken coop heater for tortoise house

How do you mount them so the tortoise doesn't pull them off the wall? They only use 2 screws and just hang on them. Not very secure. A good upward knock and it's down. Does anyone recommend a more secure way?

I know she can not escape, and she can't see over the blocks. I'm worried she will hurt herself.
