    I'm genuinely curious, for torts that are kept outdoors, does the sunlight have to be direct or indirect? Can the tort enclosure be positioned under a shady area (doesn't get direct sunlight but is still bright) for example?

    Goodluck with yours as well. Hopefully we get some useful tips from the others. :-) I have a couple of Red Foots also, they're very personable and not shy at all. They like to burrow in coco peat (the substrate I use) instead of using their hidebox. . So far I have not experienced any issues...

    We're in manila, all the 3 torts are outdoors 24 hours. In regard to the hide box, the size is 1 foot by 2 feet in one end plus a small pot on another. :-)
