I'm not sure if you want to tell Lyns that Mary Knobbins is going to move to NorCal tortoise guy (Aaron) in Sacramento Calif. It will be better for her and easier for me, but it's making me so sad...she will live in a creep of tortoises, she won't be a "pet" tortoise anymore.

I thought it was a species of begonia it was given to me...it's in a 28 inch pot and weighs about 40 pounds. It's in a plastic pot that is all broken and cracked...I thought it would enjoy a transplant, but I think it would take 3 people...lol

I suggest you find a tortoise rescue as they are covered by all kinda federal laws..Find a rescue specific to Gopherus agassizii...that is the very best thing you can do for that baby. When they hatch they live underground in the nest for the next year, the humidity is necessary for correct...
