South Florida - New Enclosure - Red Foot or Sulcata?

This is Mary Knobbins who came to me about 5 years ago. She was rescued by a guy from Corvallis who went to Portland to watch the riots with antifa and The Proud Boys, and found her living on the downtown streets with heat from a fire barrel and being fed hamburgers. So he tort napped her and...

Project pet AD, the good&bAD- does anyone wish to help/contribute?

My sister has been involved in turtle and tortoise rescue...breeding and keeping for close to 40 years now I think, and until recently I operated a small special needs turtle and tortoise rescue and have chelonia of my own. Both of us have been involved with TFO since 2008...I tell you this so...

    Happy Birthday

I'm not sure if you want to tell Lyns that Mary Knobbins is going to move to NorCal tortoise guy (Aaron) in Sacramento Calif. It will be better for her and easier for me, but it's making me so sad...she will live in a creep of tortoises, she won't be a "pet" tortoise anymore.

    THE NUT HOUSE

I thought it was a species of begonia it was given to me...it's in a 28 inch pot and weighs about 40 pounds. It's in a plastic pot that is all broken and cracked...I thought it would enjoy a transplant, but I think it would take 3 people...lol

Feeding my big boy some cactus. Love him

my guess is 150...if you can get him in your truck take him to the feed store they 'generally' have in ground scales...I always weighed my Sulcata that way..he's cool!!!

    Overheating, previous penile amputation.

First of all...I want to say that I have never ever heard Yvonne say..."Your tortoise's problem is way beyond my experience level." wow... so I am taking a semi-experienced kinda guess, but did the blood tests ever show elevated white cells? Did you say if he had a bladder infection? He's...

New member here! Tortoise species identification/gender question

I apologize...I got the impression you weren't that interested. Do those rescue's know it's a hatchling? I have been to several rescue's in Arizona, species specific, as they are my most favorite tortoise and they were totally set up beautifully, for adults, not hatchling. The Arizona-Sonora...

New member here! Tortoise species identification/gender question

I suggest you find a tortoise rescue as they are covered by all kinda federal laws..Find a rescue specific to Gopherus agassizii...that is the very best thing you can do for that baby. When they hatch they live underground in the nest for the next year, the humidity is necessary for correct...
