Cowboy Ken's torts (temp homes needed)

I've been in contact with Karen, Ken's wife, and she's asked for help in finding the last 2 Sulcatas a foster (this is not an ownership or adoption situation) home for the winter. Please see my web site www.northwesttortoise.org or my FaceBook page for details and contact information. A big...

    Disappointed in moderators actions

I recently replied to a passive aggressive moderators post by 1. suggesting how the sentence could be been written non-passively aggressive, 2. illustrating an example of another thread that was similar to mine that did not get the cease-and-desist order, and 3. asked the question why one thread...

    Cowboy Ken's Turtles?

I spoke to Ken's wife yesterday and she's given me permission to solicit for foster homes for his Sulcatas. When I get pics and info I'll create a new post and advise how those willing can help.

    Cowboy Ken's Turtles?

If I could get more details I may be able to help with the Sulcatas. I'm getting stuck with 2 this winter that I didn't plan on and I'm converting a 10x12 foot shed to house them. In theory, I could house others but I need to know sizes and sexes to determine if I have space. Can you help...

    Cowboy Ken's Turtles?

Do you know what other turtles there are? I'm happy to help house what I can. Is there a point of contact I could call?

    Cowboy Ken's Turtles?

All, I've heard though the grape vine that some folks in the Northwest are going to help take care of Cowboy Ken's turtles while he's healing. I wanted to let you all know that I have another tort being transported from Portland to the Tri Cities via private airplane on Sunday. If any of Ken's...

Found Tortoise (NW Washington State), advice greatly appreciated

I agree. And if a regular vet says they do reptiles, ask lots of questions to determine if they are actually a reptile vet. I've had lots of vets say 'yes, I'm a reptile vet' only to find out I know more than them and they cause more harm than good.

Found Tortoise (NW Washington State), advice greatly appreciated

Hello fellow Washingtonion! I'm in the Tri-Cities and run a a rescue called Northwest Tortoise and raise Eastern Box Turtles as well. All the advice you've gotten here is fantastic! If there is anything I can help with 'locally' (across the state is not quite local but you get the idea!), please...

    ISO adult sulcata

I'm happy to report Phil and his wife have a new addition to their family! A 20 year old rescue Sulcata just arrived this morning from myself, Northwest Tortoise. Kim and Phil were most gracious in filling out the adoption forms, talking care with me and coordinating shipping. I'm ecstatic the...

    Bladder stone

I don't want to give you false hope but while you are getting the money together soak her 4x a day. I had a Sulcata rescue come in with a stone the size of a golf ball but was not healthy enough to survive surgery. I soaked her 4x a day for months and months (about year) and it dissolved on its...

    Looking for my first Tortoise

Hi Libby, Bumping your post. Sorry but I don't know anything about the Chicago market. You may need to look elsewhere and ship from a breeder. Have you looked at Greek Iberas? Full disclosure: I breed them so I'm biased. I think Iberas are way prettier than Russians because they have more...
