Our guy Spots decides to make a new burrow

Thank for the night box ideas! What is the optimal nighttime temp I should aim for?

I even tried his favorite treats, he wasn’t coming out [emoji38] I have a feeling I’ll be forcing mine into his night box too!

This will be his first winter outside, we need to get him a night box built too.

Ha Ha!

So it started raining so I went out and he was halfway out the burrow but he went back in completely under water when I tried to grab him, so I dug him out the whole time he’s hissing and clawing himself into the dirt. But I prevailed. Covered his burrow with wood and bricks so this won’t happen...

Ok that’s what I figured, I’ll give the hose a go and have my shovel on standby! I’ll get his heat lamp ready, thank you!

Our 3 year old Sully Spots is refusing to come out of his burrow that has water in it. It’s up about mid shell. We live in South Louisiana and the day temps are upper 80’s and nights in the mid 60’s right now. How long can he stay in the water like that? He hasn’t come out since early yesterday...

Thank you, my instinct was too move him so I’m glad I did. It appears to be collapsing as the water retreats so we will more than likely fill it it. He has two dog igloos that he’s loved and used up until the beginning of the summer, we’ll try to encourage him to go back into those.

Hi! Yes he actually has two of the dog house igloos which he has enjoyed going back and forth to depending on the time of day. Maybe he is just bored and instinct is kicking in

Thank you! We almost lost him as a hatchling due to improper care instructions from the breeder. Y'all helped me pull off a miracle and bring him back from deaths door! We are forever grateful for all the expert advice that is shared here [emoji4]
