I know you were just kidding about the dog being your tort's friend, but for members who have lost their tortoises to dogs and for members who's tortoises have been hurt by dogs, it isn't really much to joke about. Even the best trained dogs can do what dogs do. I would just be content with...
I am surprised you are having this problem with a box turtle. All of mine have always been able to flip themselves back over. They have amazing neck and leg strength. The only one that could not was the rescue who was weak and eventually went to meet his maker. I hope you are able to fix...
What made you choose this one? I am wondering if it has some kind of birth defect. I don't know anything about leopards but I was curious because of the problem you are mentioning. I know others will chime in that know about leopards. You can also pm Tom, he might be able to help you out.
You need to do better than that!;P. Those of us who keep up with Cooper have seen all of those. Just Kidding with you, I love your updates and never get sick of reading about Cooper!:)
Just to be contrary and that it is still so little, I am going with female. When was its hatch date? I have two of Tom's experiment babies and they are big. The oldest was hatched in June and the younger one was hatched on July 4. The oldest is a little over a pound and is over five inches...
I am so sorry that this happened to your sweet little one. I am glad that it is recovering well. It is apparent that you care a lot about it. Wishing a speedy recovery!
I don't think your Sulcata looks dry. I know that when they get to be a certain size then humidity is no longer essential. You can put in a fogged but the humidity is mainly for hatchlings and babies.
I am in no way trying to be critical or rude to you, Sibi. It is just what I have...
Sibi, I meant no disrespect to you. I was not trying to be critical at all. I was just saying that soaking them once a day is fine. Soaking them twice is okay if you want to but I do not think you are going to hurt them by doing it once a day. You may not, and Tom may not, regard Tom as the...
You do not need to soak them at least twice a day. Once a day is fine. Look at Tom's threads, he has never said to soak them that much and he is King when it comes to Sulcatas and leopards. When I say king, I mean he is the expert on their care. You should be feeding them fresh food every...
Such a funny story!!! I kept laughing and laughing! I hope you post more Frankie stories, I can't seem to get anymore Bob stories and this is a great substitute!:)
I agree completely, Yvonne, the rules are here for a reason. We do not and should not be purposely divisive. If we are it should be removed. That should apply to everyone. If Tim was purposely divisive you should remove his post.
Having gotten that off my chest, I don't think the mixing...
It would be nice if we could just see the thread to determine for ourselves what to make of all this brewhaha.(?). I, for one, would love to be able to read it and determine for myself if it is vital for the care and longevity of said tortoises. However, I don't understand what the big deal...
