Ok, sorry to cause a debate here. :( So little Gem, my redfoot, likes earthworms. Can i feed her worms as a protein source? How many and how often. She finds them when outside in her pen, but can be fed extra if needed.

This may seem like a silly question, but we got our redfoot last Sat. On that day we saw her poop, and pee. Since then nothing, is this normal? How often should she go? We have been feeding her 1st 2 days greens, then a day of fruit, then 2 days of greens, and fruit again today. Thanks

Well the tortoise's name is Gem. My kids are Colin 11, Joe 9, Gabby 5, Dillan 3, and Ruby 10 months. The Geckos are Cupcake she is a patternless leopard gecko, and Lenny he has a normal pattern. I am sure I will be around a lot since we are new to tortoises :)

we are constructing an inside enclosure. the floor is plywood, and the sides are boards. when i add the substrate should i add some soil first or should i just put in the moss and mulch? ALso what kids of plants would you put into the inside enclosure?
