As far as I know its safe. Once its grouted I plan to clear coat all of it. I will make sure that the clear coat is tort safe sealing it all

Bought it at Home depot by the pond pumps.... I got the smallest one. It is for a table top fountain.

If you are painting the wood I don't think you need to buy treated. The paint seals it for you. And I believe most caulks arnt paintable but if you are painting white you can use a white or clear caulk and then no need to paint. I personally use an all silcone formula for my torts enclosure.

UPDATE: Its been about 6 months. So far everything as been great. I think every enclosure of mine in the future will be getting lined with truck bed liner. The screens had to be replaced with Lexan once the cats knocked them out about 3 weeks in. That caused a heat/humidity problem. To...

Been a while since the last post.... burnt out my soldering iron. Bought a small butane torch and finished up the shaping. Covering in grout is soon to come!

One of my friends asked me to ID these torts for him. I know they are not his and not sure where he came across the photo. However I still insisted on telling him to never house torts on pellets as in the photo :) The best ID I can come up with is a Bowsprit tortoise (chersina angulata)...

I ended up putting in 2-2"x12" floor registers in the top of the enclosure. One on each side and that way I can adjust the flow and hopefully create a temperature gradient.

I would remove the tomatoes and carrots. Carrot are very high in sugars and the totmatoes contain lots of acid. Greeks should be fed a wide variety of broad leafy greens and weeds. Kale is ok in small amounts. Dandelion and romaine are good choices. Some will argue romaine is more of a...

I'm basing my plans off of how they make large faux rocks. They shape chicken wire or hardware cloth and spray it with exspanding foam. And then covering that in concrete. Real rock look with a fraction of the weight

I have it cracked open 2" at the bottom with blocks... think I'm going to meed to vuild vents up top.
