    Egg progress...am I getting close?

I put them in the incubator on August 31st and they began hatching on November 7th. Their was nearly a week between the time when the first one pipped and the last one hatched.

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

Yeah...though honestly I had never given up on them. I was never really persuaded they were gone.

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

Three have hatched completely, one more has pipped, and the last one was wiggling. I think I may get all 5!

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

Well it turns out there were tortoises in there. They were just waiting for me to leave on a business trip to hatch. The first one is out and a second is pipping. My wife keeps sending me pictures. I think this first one is a pretty good looker.

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

That makes sense to me. I sure hope you're right because the suspense is killing me. Thanks for chiming in. I guess we shall have to wait and see.

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

It could be, I've read 125 days is average. But then again I have no idea how long they were actually in the ground.

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

Bummer...because that's what all of my eggs look like now. I had found these egg candling pictures and thought they gave me hope because they all look just like the last stages here. http://andrewgeckos.weebly.com/egg-candling.html

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

This is the same egg, just at a later point of development. Do you think I lost it then, because it was clearly fertile at one point.

    Egg progress...am I getting close?

Alright, first timer here realizing that waiting for redfoot eggs to hatch gives new meaning to the word "patience." My eggs have gone from visible veining, embryo development and even movement (as in the first picture) to being clear on the top and dark on the bottom (as in the second...

Redfoot Egg Find...which way is up?

I don't see any air space, not sure they're far enough along. They glow pink, there is veining, and a darker mass on one side which I am assuming is the tortoise embryo. Right now I've got that side down since I'm assuming based on other clutches that the tortoise develops on the bottom. But...

Redfoot Egg Find...which way is up?

So I was working out in the Redfoot pen today digging out a new area for a water feature and inadvertently scooped up a shovel full of six eggs. I had no idea they were there until I dropped the dirt and eggs rolled out. I candled them and they appear to be fertile. I can see veining and a...
