    burying tortoise!

Hey everybody. Recently, Percy has been burying himself in the garden in a deep hole he has dug under the grass. He manages to fit the whole of him into it and stays there alll day! Why would he be doing this? He's so far buried that I can only see one small part of his shell. Any ideas on...

Should I rehome my tort? :(

I did do, but the tablets I was given really messed me up. I've been fine for a year now, it's just going back to uni (330 miles away from home) makes me a bit homesick and nervous thus anxious x

Should I rehome my tort? :(

No need to apologise! I can take care of him, it's just my anxiety I think. I keep thinking too far ahead into the future and worrying about what I'll do with him when I go abroad at any point (although thinking about it, my grandmother (different to the last one) would almost definitely look...

    Tortoise travelling on train?!

Not too sure where to post this one! In December I'm going to have to take Percy home via train. I've decided to go on the train that takes 8 hours compared to five and a half to save me bringing him through London and the underground etc, and only having to have one calm non-rushed change...

Should I rehome my tort? :(

I feel I'm being selfish more than selfless! Because I feel as though I should stay with my tort but there's so much I also want to do and it'd be cruel to take him with me. I'm going to keep a hold of him at least until christmas/January. Like you've said, I don't want to make any hasty...

Should I rehome my tort? :(

Everybody I would ask has a dog so I don't really want to let them look after him because I can't trust them to keep them separated. I'm thinking about asking my mums neighbour, I know she has a few torts and may be able to help me with him. I haven't personally spoken to her before but my mum...

Should I rehome my tort? :(

I feel so upset just thinking about it. I just feel maybe I should have waited a bit longer before getting a tortoise but now I have him I don't wanna be without him! I'm so confused I don't know what to do!

Should I rehome my tort? :(

***REHOME Hey guys, I'm really worrying about things at the moment. I love my little tortoise all the world. I'd love to keep him forever however I can't help but think he'd be better elsewhere. I have plans to go abroad, go places, go on weekends away etc. I have no one that can look after my...

tortoise doesn't wake up on his own

It's set to be on for 14 hours I believe however my tortoise spends most of his time in the garden so only benefits from it morning and evening. I believe it's an mvb (?) Bulb. I'm so bad at remembering all this (not so) technical stuff. I bought the one that was recommended a lot on here. You...

tortoise doesn't wake up on his own

Perhaps. I don't actually have a thermometer so I don't know the exact temperature but he has his heat/uvb light on a timer so there's always a cue as to night and day. I'll grab a thermometer tomorrow and keep an eye on temperature x

tortoise doesn't wake up on his own

Yeah always very active after five minutes or so. He sleeps inside in his enclosure, buries himself so I can tell if he's woken up beforehand or not. He just never seems to wake up himself and get food or anything unless I pick him up and make him walk about
