    Hello Greg- She (im still guessing a she) is 24 inches long and 19-20 inches wide. I have not weighed her but guessing 85-95lbs. I know she looks fat and hefty in that pic but i beleive its the angle. Here is another pic. Also guessing a she because the plastron is very flat not concaved at all...

    Question- you mention you have seen the temps go down to 60F, is that the coldest it gets there throughout the year? in captivity they seem to be quite cold tolerant and sturdy even when submitted to temps in the 50's. I know of one keeper that stated his would leave the heated shed in 30+...

    Thanks for all the kind words on the shed- it was alot of work. Here is a few better shots of the whole setup with the redfoot neighbors. And of course a close up of that sexy face of his- someone give him some sunblock and lotion for that complexion!

    I need to get a close up of him/her. Went with Squirt because he/she has a deformity in the tail area, there really isnt one at all so thought that name fit a 400lb tortoise! Ill try and get a close up shot soon.

    Thanks, No the pine cones dont seem to be an issue with Squirt. Now the right side of the shed is sectioned off for 4 redfoots and one loves the pine cones, getting on top and rocking back and forth to scratch his belly! funny to see. Squirt will scratch against that small palm from time to time...

    I haven't posted in a while so thought I would share some updated pics of Squirt and his fancy shmancy Shed! Squirts been doing great and as he is getting older (2006 baby) he is coming out of his shyness and starting to eat from our hands and come to us more often. Enjoy!

    You will enjoy raising him. Expensive but you get a very hardy species that is fun to raise.
