Redfoot Baby hasn’t gained any weight in a long time

Mine stalls at weights sometimes..I'd be more worried if they are losing weight compared to not gaining

Sphagnum Moss good for 1-2months old baby RedFoot- newbie help pls

Don't worry about the yolk sac. Mine was also too young to morally or ethically be sold....but I didn't know until after the fact. And it has gained more than 120 grams and thriving. Just keep your humidity up and your temperatures right, with healthy food and I promise you'll be fine. I worried...

Redfoot baby shell deformed - birth defect?

Should I be worried about this

Sooooo...I'm actually super proud of how this little tort is doing! Now up to 140 plus grams....up from floating around 30ish grams when I purchased him. I keep his humidity on a controller as well as his temp so he's constantly floating no lower then 80 percent humidity to highest 91 percent...

Removing super glue from Russian tortoise shell?

Easiest and safest thing for removing adhesives is typically a very high concentration rubbing alcohol. Like 90 percent and higher. Even a lot of high concentration hand sanitizers will basically melt most adhesives. Just have to soak it with a cloth or something...should help. Personally I...

    New Redfoot Owner

I got a humidity and temperature controller that works very well off of Amazon, which I hook up to a ceramic heat emitter and a humidifier. On top of that I took a piece of a plexi glass and outlined the t5 high output bulb as well as che fixture on to it and cut out the holes with a Dremel to...

Feedback on my cheap redfoot enclosure please

I think it has all the essentials, I would just keep an eye out for that second level if you can't figure out a way to make some sort of a fence structure along the edge. The only time I've had problems with my redfoot flipping onto it's back in the most mundane ways was when it was at its youngest

Coiled UVB bulb discussion on another thread

Sorry, I'm not suggesting anyone doesn't care about their torts...I understand that lighting technology is ever changing and evolving, all I'm saying is at this moment is the risk really worth the reward? Ultimately that's what I think this debate really boils down to

Coiled UVB bulb discussion on another thread

What I don't get is why this is even a debate still....assuming your animals health is your top priority. If you get better UVB from a strip light and you don't run the risk of eye damage is the price difference, or size difference really worth the risk??
