Anybody want to guess my sulcata's sex?

Thanks! My plan is to keep updating this thread as he grows. 9 1/2 to 13 doesn't sound like much, but when I look at the shots on the first page I think "dang, he's getting big!"

Anybody want to guess my sulcata's sex?

I'll try to get a picture of the plastron, but it is flat. I don't know if it'll be out when I get home from work, but grazing time is getting later with the lengthening of the days. It may be the weekend before I get a photo opportunity. one day i'll know! it will be interesting to see how...

How high can a sulcata climb?

Tortimer is 13 inches SCL right now. I'm thinking around 24 inches tall. It will be built in such a way that we can raise it higher if he can climb up there. I guess it depends on if he can pull his weight up there with his front legs. right now it's only about 6-8 inches and he just...

How high can a sulcata climb?

I have some landscaping around the area Tortimer hangs out. It's already walled off slightly, but he can now climb up there. We are going to raise these walls, we are thinking around 24 inches. Should this be enough to keep the sully out? nocking down the walls wont be an issue as there...

Anybody want to guess my sulcata's sex?

UDATED! I tried to edit the first post, but could not due to the length of time that had passed. I thought it would be neat to add to this thread to see the changes over the last year. Hopefully people read the entire thread before they make a guess. Tortimer is now 13" SCL and I...

    Ant control

i remember reading about this on this very forum. something you can mix with sugar and water and place in a sealed container with holes on the side for ants to go in and out and bring the stuff back home so they all die. I just don't remember what it was. *edit here you go...

    Tortoise Tricks?

Tortimer comes when called. every time. He's not that fast, he'll be out 5 minutes or so after calling. The tort is 99% fed by grazing, so it's not so much "food god" but he will, from time to time, get treats when called.

    not eating/moving around

are you around all day? It's a little chilly in AZ right now but tortimer still comes out all the time, however he adjusts his schedule. This time of the year we will miss seeing him graze during the weekdays because he is back in his den by like 1:30 PM. He isn't out for very long this time...

    New Sulcata Owner

it looks like your link is wrong, as you have a missing image font. To add to what emysemys what you do is this, but without the spaces: [ i m g] /url/to/image [ / i m g] The closing img tag has a slash.

    Dudley

so far Tortimer has two spots he goes in, and they are both under bushes. one of those bushes wasn't doing so good, but now with all that good compost it's growing fantastic. The other plant always did grow well, but we get piles in there we can remove and add to our compost pile!
