Tank enjoying sun and hibiscus before the winter.jpg

Hi, Im new @ keeping tortoises, have kept black n white tegu's dragons and uromastyx in the past . is that a above ground pool your using for housing out side?

Yes its an above ground pool. Well its a XL foldable dog pool lol. I have a wired cage built around it with a door in case of predators but its nothing fancy. Its holding up great. The torts cant dig out, no flooding when it rains, very secure and durable. They have been in the enclosure since June of this year. I am also a new tortoise keeper. I figure it was a cheap outdoor enclosure for them because they are still small. I will build them an actual enclosure once they are larger but if you are looking for examples and ideas of outdoor enclosure then there is a bunch of knowledgeable owners here in the forum with pictures and example of quality builds then mine.

No problem anytime. I bought it off of amazon for about 50-60 dollars cant remember exact amount but its a heavy duty PVC material that could be used for outdoor pond also. It is foldable so easy transport if you need to move it. weighs about 15lbs total. I think its 63" in diameter and 12" deep. Has a drain in the bottom front end of it to keep it from flooding. I used river rocks to line up the bottom of the pool for draining so substrate wont clog the drain hole up in case of heavy rain. The second lair is organic soil, play sand mix and the I top it off with cypress mulch. If you are interested in the same enclosure then look up "GoStock dog pool" on Amazon. There are different sizes on there in case you want something smaller. I'm thinking about ordering another for indoor housing.
