Myakoda

This is Myakoda, we found her in the middle of the street. She was a hatchling, she had a yolk sac that was almost healed. Now she's about six months. My husband is holding her here. I'm so new to a lot of this. Although I've read, and watched tons of hours of information. I have a lot of questions.
You know, tin foil can be done. My husband said he can do it cutting holes for the lights. I have read so much, and it's always 50% or so. I thought if to high shell rot, or respiratory infections can occur? I feel bad now, I know she's getting enough heat, and the lights are the best the pet store had. Zoo Med? Ceramic no light heater for night time. I'll get the exact kind we have. I don't have the box, we just got a higher one, 100 watts. I have pics, however I'm unable to download them in here. Ugh!
Great on the tin foil. With sulcata's you don't need to worry about shell rot. If humidity is high and temps are below 80° for a extended period of time Myakoda could get a respiratory infection.
Here are the UVB not to use. If you bought at the pet store this is probably what you have. Most pet stores don't give proper care.
You know the section of this forum won't let us download pics. Go to the general discussion thread and post a new thread. I was wondering why other members were not chiming in.

Would a wet washcloth laid over her log work? Also we do mist her teranium as well.

Don't use moss they have a tendency to eat it. If you can fasten a sponge to the top of the log that will work. But some how you need to cover the top.
I posted somewhere just now, I'm assuming the general forum. It only allowed so many words. I need to get use to this lol. Also, your baby is adorable. Looks like a shower for your baby. I worry a lot about pyramiding, I lose sleep. I feel she a first child, so helpless, and 100% depends on us for everything. I also feel like we've done pretty good, always room for improvement. I want perfection. I drive my husband a little nuts, because I want to get all her needs perfect, or close! However, need to address the humidity, and get her to eat more grass. I get her foods from Whole Foods, Dandelion, collard greens, mustard greens, endive, wheat grass, animal grass as of late, cactus pads, kale, arugula, bok choy. We dust a lot of cuddlebone on her minced mixed salad, which we change up every week. Also she has a bone in her house. She's very picky, she will not touch the Tortoise foods, or any kind of hays.

I will look for your other thread. It sounds like Myakoda has a great diet of different foods. Hay is a little to early for her. Try buying a small bag of Mazuri 5m21 not the LS type online. Soak it until it's soft and mix with the food at first.
The only way to combat pyramiding is humidity.

I'll try that food and zap it in the blender with her salad. She really needs more foods that are grasses. We are now prepping a tub with chicken wire attached to wood for a cover. She will be on the patio when we're home in her tub half in the sun, half in the shade. Water, subsrate etc.. She really needs sun, and like you said more humidity. We will spray her tub, every so often when she's outside. Also a long soak.

Be careful with the tub in the sun. It can heat up quick like a oven.
With the mazuri just soak 3 or 4 pellets in a little water. It will soak up the water and then just break up in the food. After a week or so offer the water soaked pellets separate. If Myakoda eats it great. If not go back to mixing with food.
