Lots of folks never change the water. Trust me. Change the water. The water evaporates over time. The waste stays behind. The filters don't remove everything. Even with carbon, etc. Most "clean up"fish actually ad to the biological load....Not help with it. Plants help, but not enough. I have nine tanks. Seven of them contain prolific waste producers. All of them have top-of the-line over filtration as well as U.V sterilizers. I still need to replace 40% of the water twice a month. Why would we obsess about the care of our tortoises and not regularly change our aquarium water? It's like placing newspaper on the floor because the carpet is dirty.

If your tank gets infested with those little snail's a yoyo loach will take care of them.

We've moved this "debate" over to it's own thread! :)

I'm so jealous of everyone's tanks and fish! I wish I could have a bigger one!

I have always wanted a school, but they are illegal in Texas.
Oh really?? We didn't even buy them at a pet store, it was a large place where they sell everything...guns, knives, pets, rugs, clothes, the names not coming to me.

I do 80% water changes weekly. And I have two filter and a pleco in the tank, but nothing beats a wc :)

My upstairs one, recently did a plant trim on it.1413384348287.jpg
And my big downstairs one. My Afrikan Upside down catfish is hiding in the face and my silly blue craw fish took the log for her self.1413384409252.jpg1413384419388.jpg
The downstairs has a lot of baby plants in it I am selling soon to make room for my new plants, which should arrive this week.
