I know that this is not the correct group but I couldn't resist.
My girlfriends daughter is doing a internship in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This wild Leopard tortoise is living in her villa.
She has about 44 pictures and hours of video of the tortoise going about its daily routine.ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1407729619.581966.jpg

Thank you for sharing the photos! Great looking specimen. I'm surprised they are saying she hasn't grown in 5 years, some growth on her looks less than five years old. If your girlfriends daughter ever comes across any more specimens or could share more pictures of this one, we would greatly appreciate it.

Does she know if this tortoise retreats or hides somewhere during the evening or throughout the day? I'm curious to know if she has a particular place that she likes or she just sleeps out in the open like the second picture. My leopards like to sleep in the open like that.

Neal,
We have over 1 hour of video and about 40+ pictures.
We will post them as soon as possible.

Thanks for sharing this. As you can tell, there are a few of us that not only love our own leopards but we really love seeing them in the wild. So, any pictures and info you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Someone in the Villa gave Ellie a bowl of bread called "Injera bread".
The bread is made from the grain of the Eragrostis tef grass.

You are right.
The residence of the Villa are not tortoise enthusiasts, with that said, they made the comment that she hasn't grown in 5 years with a untrained eye.
They are all wondering why Daphne is so interested in Ellie. To them, Ellie is just another resident of the Villa.
