My tortoise house is almost complete.
All I need is insulation, door strips and run
the wiring. Check out pics. Notice no floor but
I did build up with sand and layed rubber on top
of it.

My aldabras are almost ten pounds. I mite be going over
board with the 8x12 tortoise house but I'm ready...lol

I just noticed your torts are over ten pounds, wow. How old are they? You only got them last fall right? How long are they now?

Got them last fall at 2 1/2 pounds. Not sure of age. One is over
9 pounds and the other is just a little under 9 pounds.
I'll have to measure. They are at least 10 inches.

Wow and they were 4 inches right when you got them. I know that's the smallest that Chris sells them at. That's 6 inches or more in less then a year. That's some fast growing? or is that average? Greg?

Thank you for posting all this info. Very interesting to see their growth.

I contacted Chris for possible hatching in the future. Not easy to get.

Seriously? no pics! That's why we look at these posts! Great house by the way, but post some pics! We can't stand it!

Also, if I can put in another request ;) It is very interesting to me at least if you could provide the age when you share the current size. I could not find the age of yours in your thread. Are they 2 years old? The first pics you shared were in Oct '12? Were they 6 months then? Thanks much and I can't wait for more!

I know, I need updated pics. I'm guessing they are two years old. They were 6 inches long when I got them. I've had them two winters or two Octobers up to now. I'll get some pics this weekend.
