I have noticed some white cloudy bugger like substance around my tortoises eyes. It seems to cover the eye and bothers them and also causes watery eyes for some. I’ve noticed stuff like this before sometimes causes by injures but it clears up over time this is different because it doesn’t seem to affect the eye directly and seems to cover the eye like a blanket. I’ve noticed it on 4-5 of my Libyans . I recently acquired a large group of Libyans a 7.17 they are all healthy huge eating great no complaints on anything else. There was one female that had swelling which I posted on the forum a week ago but it’s fully cleared up and she looks normal. The tortoises that I’m noticing this issue on Seem healthy they are eating walking around but there eye are bothering them. Also exactly a week ago I added some straw as bedding in the enclosure and about 2 weeks ago I added 250 watt chicken heat lamps the red ones. I think the straw could have causes this since im noticing it right after the straw so I’ve removed most of that straw that I could and I’ve also replaced the Chicken heat lamps with zoomed 150 watt ones not as powerful but I think maybe the red light could have caused it. I would love to get insight.
I have added pictures after rubbing of the white around the eye in one picture it’s still noticing on the edge of the eye but the watery eyes can still be seen I’ll take more pictures when I notice the the substrate around the eye again.k
