It's not normal. We're so used to training our animals, right? We never notice that they're training us until we notice.
The only animal that I let get away with destructive behaviour lol
He’ll trash his enclosure and I’ll just be like “aw he redecorated”
Definitely wouldn’t let my cats or dogs get away with any of that

My tort has done this when he's walked through his poop, then I assume he tried to manoeuvre himself out of a corner or push himself away from a wall. in his room. Thankfully it's not something he does too often.

Chubbs...Years ago I had Bob a 100+ pound Sulcata and he would get mad at being kept in during our winter of rain snow and ice so he would poop out a large mess of Sulcata waste in one corner of his shed...but then he would place one very hay filled giant turd right in his water dish...I actually posted photos of that...lol

Anyone else have an artist?
Poe likes to show off his inner Jackson Poellock
Please tell me I’m not the only one that deals with this

My Leopard tortoise hatchlings, if I miss a poo in their enclosure, will all contribute to the "poo art". Soaking everyday encourages them to poo in their bath and not in their enclosure, but some seem to save one here and there to demonstrate their artistic capabilities. It doesn't wash off well either. At least once a year I change out my substrates and paint the enclosure. Fine art to be sure.

For some reason mine has never been a bath pooper. In the full year I’ve had him he has only pooped while being soaked less than 5 times I swear. He won’t urinate in them usually either but the second he does is when he decides bath time is over and starts scrambling to get out of there

Well,of course !! He is shocked you would make him sit in a bath full of urine - what sort of decent carer would do that !!

My little guy usually waits till I take him out of the bath and then lets her rip. So I make sure he's wrapped in a towel. It didn't take long for me to learn my lesson ?
