Well today I was doing research for the Greek tortoise that I may be getting but on the internet it says minimum 46 by 24 by 24 yet people are saying it should be 8 foot by 5 foot by 3 foot and some were saying other things (this is for a inside vivarium for during winter as I live in north east of England and winters are freezing) so what are your thoughts on this and how big are your vivariums

You are not finding reliable sources.
You can listen to this forum and do it right or you can listen to the other sites incorrect info and do it wrong and damage your tortoise.
The size you listed is fine for a hatchling. You might get away with a couple years in that size. Then it needs a minimum of a 4x8 for adulthood and that is still not what it should really have but it is the minimum we can safely and humanely recommend.

Okay thank you
Plus, people here are recommending 4x8 foot. Not what you have list.
when you say 4x8 foot what do you mean like do you mean 4 foot in width and 8 foot in length

sorry if I’m being a hassle it’s just I want my tortoise to be as happy and healthy as possible

I have a Hermann's in a 6x4x3 at around 4yrs old +/-. Right now I think it has plenty of room to be content. It was in a temporary 4x4 crate & was running into the walls non stop. I still need to put final touches on it, but the shell looks great with the humidity control.20210615_223851.jpg20210721_105255.jpg

A minimum of 4x8 feet for an adult.

Most torotise care info you find will be old, out-dated and wrong. Here is the current and correct info, including enclosure size and type:
