This is so sad. I come to this local pets plus, and this red foot has not moved from this spot in weeks. Now his eyes are starting to water, and he looks severely dehydrated. There is no humidity in here for this species. His shell health doesn’t look too good either. Wish I could save him.

All u can do is try to suggest some housing changes to them. If u dont feel comfortable doing it in person then give them a call and explain it to them. Wont hurt to try

or email them and add a link to TFO.
Maybe tell them he is not well and ask if you can have him to nurse him back to health?
Poor thing looks in bad shape.

Go volunteer to care for the animals
I really am going to consider this idea, and call tomorrow to speak with the manager.
the tortoise needs a lettuce diet since they are feeding all the tortoises in this enclosure pellets... I would volunteer to even go to the pet store and care for them if I can’t bring it home to care. I can try and educate as well because this tank they have them in the lights are so high up that there is no chance these tortoises are even getting the proper nutrients from the lights for shell health and for metabolism health.
It breaks my heart to see this. He once has nice bright beautiful eyes. And looked alert.

Red foots need humidity and there is no shot that this red foot is even getting that. Poor thing.

No lettuces actually except Romaine and dark leaf greens, fruit and protein.

Poor tort this reminds me of when me and another member from this forum rescued a red foot years ago she was from? Anyways she was at a hockey tournament in Canada went to rain Forrest cafe here and said how terrible the red was doing and me and her collaborated and ended up getting the tort for a horrible place
