In message # 45 I posted a picture of Bob, you said something about her face, but you had asked about Mary and I posted 3 photos of her. I think maybe we are both lost. It's not important

It is important, and thank you for clearing that all up, I completely understand.

Mary was found walking in downtown Portland Oregon and brought to Corvallis and turned over to our local wildlife rescue, and they called me.
Knobby, as he was called then, is very badly pyramided and small for his est. age. I have had him for about 5 years now. About a year ago our Nazi-moderated took another close look at him, Knobby. He was so pyramided I named him after the knobs on a dirt bike tire. Anyhow, Knobby the male, has matured into Mary Knobbins female. She is between 5 and 8 years, I think. Her new growth is smooth but she will always be pyramided and small.
There are a lot of pyramided Sulcata and I'm afraid if we don't say something that newbies will start to think that pyramiding is normal. Mary is reasonably healthy but won't ever be pretty, but what she lacks in looks, she makes up for in a rotten personality...lol

I love her face even with her overshot jaw, or maybe because of it

every time I see her.. I love her a little bit more!!!! She is a cutie pie ! I love her over shot jaw (as you called it). That makes her stand out in a crowd. What a great job you are doing taking care of her. I still feel so bad for her pyramiding though... I wish I could kick the ....*&@“ outta the person who surrendered her. They must have kept her in a box the entire time !! Do you know her past history? Any of it?
never the less she is AMD will always be a BEAUTY to me! ❤️

Tom, You have probably been asked this before, so I'm sorry to ask again.
How many sulcatas do you have? How big is their enclosure or enclosures? How did you get started taking them in?
There are few threads on this forum that do not reference you or your advice in some way, so I am interested in your story.
Thank you for being so patient.

I had a trio in an 8000 sq. ft. enclosure, and I recently gave those to a friend. I still have an adult male and female Sudan sulcata that each live in a 2500-3000 square foot enclosure, and those are supposed to go to a new home in March. Over the years I've had dozens, and I've raised over 1000 babies at this point. I've got three clutches that are incubating right now.

I bought my first one as a hatchling in 1991. The breeder literally walked in the my pet store selling them. Got more in 1998, and lots of others have come and gone over the years.
