Just wanting to know peoples experience with hay and if there’s any pros or cons to it. Up for debate!

Can you be more specific? You mean hay as a food, or for bedding?

For what species, and what age are you inquiring?

Grass hay is a great food for for adults of some species, while others don't really eat it.

. . . and it's not good for bedding because it molds.

Red foot, shy of a year old meadow hay for extra bedding

What about changing it weekly is it still no good?

Hay has a lot of uses. When I had sulcatas I used hay for bedding in their hides and supplemental food. The “bedding” didn’t last because they ate it. I tried it once for bedding for my redfoots and it turned to a sloppy mess so I removed it. I also use it for brumation bedding for my Testudos. At the end of summer/early fall I usually cover all their outdoor enclosures with a thin layer of hay which composts over the winter and will sprout in the spring once they go back outside. So it has a lot of uses but the only ones that eat it with any regularity were the sulcatas in my experience.

I'm talking about grass hay - I never used it for bedding but my Sulcata ate it almost exclusively in the winter and my radiated adults eat it , but no where near as happily as the sulcata did....but my sulcata would eat a shoe if you gave it to him.
