The yellow leaves on the pothos 'could' mean over watering. In that humidity Pothos would not need a lot of watering. @Mark84...I drove out 80 towards Placerville, hollering for you and honking. But a nice Hiway Patrolman told me I probably should just drive on thru and git outa Calif. that I wouldn't find you that way. I also looked for NoCa guy, but I wasn't sure where in North Calif to look. So this crazy old lady made it home in 9 hours...
I tend to only water them about once per week. Once I notice the leaves are starting to droop a little, I add some water and they perk back up. The yellow leaves in addition to the very slowed growth led me to believe they may have been root bound and needed a bigger pot. I am definitely not the best with plants though, so I could be completely wrong lol. Since repotting, they are doing great and lots of new growth is coming in. My spider plant is starting to get a spiderette, so I will soon be propogating that plant as well!

There seems to be a couple different types of pothos I see sold as the houseplant pothos. One is really vigorous and will take over an enclosure. The other is much less vigorous and burns easily under the basking or UV lights.

This is the one that is much less vigorous. It's in with my pancakes...

This is the one I love. very vigorous and strong. It will take over and enclosure like a jumangi plant. I have to keep it up high as these guys eat everything they can reach, so you can see these are well trimmed! ... but I like the roots that also grow down and provide cover. It will attach and grow up the walls and over the ceiling as well.

Here's one of the good "types" that's in with my spider tortoise. This is all from one small pot in the back left corner. I've trimmed and made new pots full of pothos maybe a dozen times from this one plant that's been in here a few years now.

Anyone recommend other plants that would do well in an indoor enclosure? I tried to add a Boston fern, but the plant was huge and went from floor to ceiling. I also don't have anywhere to hang plants from inside the enclosure.

@Markw84 how hard would it be to add some hanging hooks to the ceiling of your smart enclosure? Would I just drill a pilot hole and screw in a hook?

Those enclosures look great! Lots of plant coverage. I think my pothos looks more like the vigorous one. It has the multicolored leaves, and the roots grow like crazy. They will grow out of a stalk in mid air, no soil needed. Pretty cool to see in my opinion.

Lesson learned, don't trim the pothos, just let it grow.. lol

Yes, I do it all the time with the larger tortoises that can tip pots. You can even see in the picture above of the galapagos enclosure one of the plants is hanging. I have 6 hanging pots in that enclosure.

The PVC is pretty easy to screw into - more so than wood. I just punch a small hole with an awl where I want the cup hook and then screw it in.

@Markw84 Those first ones you said are not as vigorous, are they not Philodendron? They look a lot like one of the types of Philodendron.

Could be. You'll see some pothos labeled as philodendrum in some places and vice versa. The one I showed as slower growing is very much like the philodendrum you often see growing on stakes upright. Both are in the same family plant wise.

Ive seen some on josh’s frogs website. I wonder if i washed them well and replanted them it would work. They sell them for enclosures so im thinking that they shouldnt have any systemic pesticides

I've recently planted a Spider Plant in the enclosure, besides from having to water it often, it's doing really well!

Tortoises love live plants! The perfect natural hide for young tortoises.

If you are having to water too often, your enclosure is too dry. I rarely have to water the spider plants in my enclosures. I do water the pothos perhaps once per week.
