Hey guys, I was told this is the place to ask questions. I recently got this girl in the last week. Any idea what's going on here or how to fix this? Looks like possibly egg binding. Not too many good exotic vets in my area so I'll start with you guys. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

wow, have you messed around and tried to see what that is, could it be an egg? I had a box turtle who laid infertile eggs, is it poop? have you tried to move it out the cloaca?

Might be a bladder stone. Be very careful, because if it is an egg you don't want to break it. Do you have some sort of spreading implement you can place at the opening of the cloaca and spread it to see what's there? If it's a bladder stone or poop, you can break it up into smaller pieces so it will pass.

If this is beyond your capabilities, you need to get to a vet asap

but they say he is the BEST for your torts needs...
Yeah, I drove 160 miles to see "the best Vet for the job." It took him about 4 hours to kill Bob. I wrote a letter of complaint to the Veterinary Board and it took some time, but in the end they suspended the Exotic part of his license, he had to take x amount of classes but didn't, at leased nobody else would get hurt now. He can't treat reptiles or birds, no snakes

Thank god you had his exotic license yanked. But poor Bob... I am so devastated about your loss... wow.. out of all your stories; this one takes the cake.. ☹️????????
160miles
Bob
Stupid dentist!!!!! (because you said there is NO WAY IN HECK that he was a good exotic vet).
I only hope that Bob - pooped or peed or bit him at one point!

stinks!!!! I might have to go see this guy for an X-ray....Tonight or tomorrow
my tort sally is once again not pooping... she is soaked for 2 hours now and nothing. I used mineral oil, carrot purée, and pedialite in each water soak.
Her tail is up and turned (closes off) and yet she keeps Digging with her back feet??
She had a very wet diarrhea this morning and not a lot... she is eating like a champ! Can’t get enough grass ...
what else could be her problem??
I am assuming hard poops is what this is all about..???????
She also will not push anymore to try to go to the bathroom.????

Digging with back feet is how they dig nests. That seems to suggest she is trying to lay eggs. Does she have deep substrate (10-12”) to dig in? Often they will refuse to lay eggs for months if they cannot dig a suitable nest...
