Hi, I'm in California and we are having crazy wild fires, the sky is filled with smoke and ash. Should I bring my box turtle in? I feel I should???

I hope the fires stay well away from you. Just in case though, be thinking how you would transport your box turtle and any other critters, should it ever become necessary to relocate (evacuate). :)

Yes I have dogs crates for furbabies and a nice box for turtle. Dont think we will be evacuated just have to stay inside.

Yes, i would. If the smoke in the air is at unsafe levels for ppl, then it’s not safe for animals & reptiles.
I had the same thoughts about my Russian being outside and brought him inside fairly early. It wasn't super smoky in our town which is near the ocean, but it was smoky enough and today it's worse. I hope everyone is safe -- all the wildlife in the fire areas and all the humans as well.

@Markw84 Are you in the area of the fires? Everything OK?
Thanks for asking-

We are surrounded by vernal pools and grazing areas. So not much real fire danger, but we have been getting lots of smoke and ash falling on everything from the fires. We are quite a ways from the fires - probably 25+ miles, but in the downwind fallout for the ash and smoke.

I don't even want to think about trying to clean that up from your back yard. You have my sympathy. Prayers for all your animals! (and family too!)
