Hi tortoise lovers, I have a baby sulcata tortoise which was born just a month ago.
I have been feeding him for 4 days everyweek. I have a empty space in the cage so thinking of planting something but then he will have a free access to the food all the time.
I saw some people are saying that grasses don't contain a lot of nutritions but is it fine for them(even babies) to eat grasses everyday? Or should I keep the place empty?

Looks like you got it Wrong, you should not Ben feeding 4 days every week, you feed 3 time a day every week... I don’t know what does feeding glasses mean.
How’s the care that you have been giving your tortoise? What do you feed, temperature, humidity.

Hi thanks for your comment. Sorry it was typo and I wanted to ask if I can feed "grasses" to my tortoise. I keep the temperature between 28 and 37. I give him pak Choi, grape leaves, cactus and grasses. I watched a YouTube video by Kenan Kamp and he said that grasses don't contain a lot of nutritions and this is closed to what they eat in natural environment. So I was wondering if I can feed him grasses everyday.

Grass is what you should feed everyday, Kenan doesn’t give right Care. How do you care for the Tortoise?

Hi thanks for the comment. I heard that feeding them a lot of nutritions everyday causes the disformed shell and shortening their lifespan so I'm not giving food everyday but just every 2 days.

That’s simply not true, if you don’t want a tortoise with a deformed carapace keep the humidity high, and feed every day

Even if you lived in the same climate as Kenan, the advice he gives is old, outdated and incorrect.

Please read this if you want your baby to be healthy and grow correctly:

You should be feeding your tortoise every day, and if grass is a part of the daily diet, that is good. Just know that a 4 week old sulcata will need very soft, tender, freshly sprouted grasses.

Kenan as an entertainemnt value is excellent. After being a member here for more than a year I find that I cringe when he starts new babies. His last video had over 5 different types of tort babies in the same enclosure. So please research TFO and look at the pictures provided from numerous members that show a much better and healthier way to raise a tort. Welcome and pictures are always welcome of the local landscape and shelled babies!
