Unfortunately, yes. without knowing anything else I see you have one of those basic stick on therm/humidity gauges... It needs to go, very inaccurate.

He’s starting to pyramid yes, you can help reduce this by upping your humidity and spraying his carapace. What’s your humidity levels?
It was between 70-80%, I’ve only had him 2 weeks, he came with an open table which I replaced after further research.

Okay, you can’t get rid of it but you can help reduce it with what you’re doing by keeping the humidity high.
Are you soaking him as well?

Yes your tort has some significant pyramiding caused by growth in dry conditions. Here is a good thread to read through with all the info u need. Come back w any questions

I got my leopard from someone who didn’t know how to take care of him and he had some pyramiding and now he looks really nice but he’ll always have that bit of pyramiding. As others have said, just keep the humidity up in a closed container and the new growth will be smooth. You have a very nice looking tortoise otherwise.

I’ve made a few changes, replaced the top soil with coconut coil, added a couple more plants and some upturned plant pots to hide in. I’ve also added a tube bulb for light and disconnected the uv light bulb as we’ve been able to get outside for natural uv this week, I’ll try and only use the uv during the winter months and then only for a couple of hours.

Your tort is a lovely colour. I’ve changed the bedding from top soil to coco bark, that’s improved the humidity.

Thank you. I had actually hoped for more like a dark leopard print but it looks like (s)he’s going to be one of the lighter leopards. I think most of the fun is watching what they turn into and watching their personalities develop. I know you’re going to very much enjoy your beautiful tortoise.
