Hello everyone. I rescued a Sulcata a few years ago from my neighbor where it was just sitting in a tank with improper lighting, improper food, etc. I am now looking for a good outdoor home in a warm climate where he can live a great life. In northern IL it is not warm enough for outdoor life and I don't have room either. He is currently around 7 years old and just over 40lbs. He is a very healthy eater and loves grass, hay, and Mazuri for his main diet and loves carrots, kale, etc. for a random snack. He loves to munch on cuddle bones as well but goes through them like potato chips. Ha. I feel I am obligated to find him a nice outdoor home with someone that can care for him. I can deliver pretty much anywhere in the US if needed. I ask that you have background experience with tortoises and a proper area for him. I will be offering him for free. All I want for him is to have a good home. I can't seem to insert pictures on this thread so I will try add them from another thread below.
Thank you
Dave

Hello from Elgin, IL! I so very much wish I could take your handsome sulcata, but, as you said, we really don't live in the best place for them. My husband and I settled on a Russian tort for that reason, but maybe when we retire we can move somewhere warmer and add a sulcata to our family. I just had to reply because I couldn't believe another tort lover lives right here in my new home town!

Hello, are you still looking for a Sulcata? We have 2, a male and female, that my teenage son brought home. We do enjoy them, but they are getting pretty big and they need a larger yard to live in. If you are interested, let me know. I really don't want to part with them, they are very interesting animals, but they really need more room than what we can give them. I'm not in any hurry to re-home them, so if you are interested and want to wait awhile, that would work for me.

Yes is your baby still available for adoption. I live in Georgia. I have experience with sulcata tortoises. I have over an acre fenced in for outside time and an inside home.
