I took her to the vet a few days ago and There was a lot of bacteria.

The vet gave me antibiotics and i have been feeding her for 4days.

And this morning she had a little black poop. Her other poop came out when I soaked her in water.

It's not that she has no appetite. But she doesn't eat as much as she did last week. Yesterday she ate a zucchini

I cleaned the enclosure and replaced the substrates. Do I have to keep giving her antibiotics?

Rather than antibiotics, I would think the tortoise needed to be de-wormed. That looks like the sort of thing that they expel when they have flagellites.

I would also like to suggest a few plants placed around inside the enclosure to help make the baby feel a little safer.

What is the name of the medication you were prescribed? What was the diagnosed infection?

Metronidazole is a class of antibiotic. So are the sulfa-based compounds used against coccidia.

And yes, you should finish the entire course as prescribed so that the infection does not regrow.

Thank you for your reply. It's morning here. She had a similar poop today and it doesn't smell bad. The tests showed no parasites and worms.

I'll place spider plants. If you have any other good plants, I would appreciate it if you could recommend them.

Thanks for ur reply

The vet just said it was bacteria. I don't know the type of antibiotics.

I'm going to visit a vet in a big city in a few days.

My tort's poop doesn't smell anymore.
I think she eats more than yesterday.

Stopping antibiotics early can lead to resistant infection in time. That is, the bacteria can no longer be killed with ordinary treatments.

If the vial of antibiotic was not labelled, call the vet's office to confirm it was a type safe for reptiles (from either category III or IV, excluding Ivermectin):

I just called the vet,and he told me he couldn't tell me the type of antibiotics. I asked him why, but he only said it was a good antibiotic for reptiles.

I will meet a vet in a big city tomorrow. My tort's poo doesn't smell anymore.

It's good to get the second opinion...I don't love the idea of giving someone a vial and not providing any information about what it is and what it treats.

It is a good sign that the symptoms are resolving. That does not mean the condition is cured. Which is why a complete course of safe treatment is needed.

I am very interested to know what you find out tomorrow!

He knows very little about reptiles. And he was annoyed when I asked him why :(

Thank you very much for your help!
