I need a gender neutral name for my new addition. It’s a pretty big decision based on how long they live. So far my family has come up with Mr. T. Any suggestions?

Congrats on your new addition! I didn’t have to run my name suggestions through anyone, perks of living alone LOL, but I decided to name mine Lumos because he’s a golden green tortoise. Lumos is a spell off of Harry Potter, so it’s not really a “name”. That’s why I chose it. It was neutral so I didn’t have to worry about changing my tortoise’s name later on. If there is any movies or books you all like you could try to find something like that. Kinda like “Saber” if you’re a Star Wars fan, or “Lyric” if you like music. I think tortoises is one of the few pets you can get away with naming them something that isn’t a “real” name. Besides that suggestion.... Sam, Casey, Charlie, Riley, even Taylor nowadays is unisex. There’s plenty of great names out there. Ironically enough, though I named my tortoise Lumos, I mainly just call him “Tort”. I know. I’m original ?

?so I’ve narrowed it down to Scute, Dobby, Torticus, or Sheldon. He/she arrived tomorrow. So excited.
Torticus still sounds kinda masculine but I love it! I used to "babysit" my school's snapping turtle over the summer while I was a student there. I named him Snapsonite (which now, I actually think he was a she....).

Awesome little one!
I named Artemis after a character from the show "Always Sunny In Philadelphia"! But I'm starting to suspect for a LOT of reasons ( too many!) That "she" is going to end up a "he" inevitably. So "Arty" can end up being named after the bad guy from "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm". Best batman film ever made!

Gamera went thru a year that he proved he was a he every time I was close to him. (baby pic for avatar) I would pick him up for a shower and he would just drop his junk like Lewis C K you know... lol

How about "Artemus?" That sounds manly, doesn't it? ?
