I just bought my baby Hermann's from a breeder at a expo and he was really healthy and eating food there. I brought him home and soaked him and now I'm hearing him I guess squeak a little and then open his mouth wide but nothing of it twitching to the side his head is also slightly bobbing. I'm scared it has a repository infection but it wasnt doing any of this on the way home and I didnt walk around the expo hardly with him as my son was ready to home home. I soaked him immediately and put it in the enclosure.

His head bobbing is him smelling. If he was eating there I wouldn't worry. Just give your tort a few days to get used to it's new surroundings. If it's not eating after a few days then theres a problem.

Head bobbing is completely normal :D. About the squeaking, it may clear up. Keep us update about if he's eating and how he's doing! Im exited to hear more about him, be sure to show pictures of him :)

Yes, when my Horsefield moved into a new enclosure, he bobbed his head and started pacing his enclosure for around 3 hours ! ? He was absolutely fine.

They don't like change so he could be sulking.
Just make sure his temps are warm enough and keep a close eye on him.
If you post some pics of your enclosure and lamps members can advise on any changes you may need to help him settle in.

this is the enclosure for now till we can build a tortoises box. where the light hits is is 80f where the dark area is 65f
and I have been misting it yesterday and this morning. I just got the plants from home depot and washed them to get the potting soil out before putting them in. I made sure it was stuff that was ok to eat before buying.

Yes
Babies sleep and hide a lot.
Some more than others.
If your new guy is eating and drinking, just let him rest whenever he wants to.
ok thank you for the information I've notices he has taken a bite of the aloe I put in and I put in flowers he can eat all the time so hopefully he is eating that.

Aloe can have a laxative effect in some torts so only feed in moderation.
Have you seen www.thetortoisetable.org.uk? Its a good guide to tort food.
