I bought an Inkbird thermostat because it had two plugs. I thought I could plug both my heat sources into it. I didn't realize one plug is used for a cooling device. Can I plug both my heating devices into a power strip and then plug that into the thermostat? Or will that blow the thermostat?

whats the total wattage of your bulbs?

off of amazon:Maximum output load: 1100W

this is for the itc-308

it "shouldn't" blow the thermostat if your total watts are below 1100. and even then the thermostat would probably be fine but you might lose power on your bulbs

Can’t you return it?

Take a look at these ZILLA thermostats, they can handle and regulate up to three device inputs.

An added safety feature automatically shuts off the heating system if terrarium temperature exceeds 110°F due to heater malfunction or excessive sunlight. Three-outlet device that can manage 1000 watts of heating power.

Thanks method, it's a 150 watt CHE and a 28 watt radiant heat panel. So sounds like I should be ok. Just wanted to make sure I'm not gonna burn my house down lol

Thanks Maro2bear. I got it on eBay so I can probably only return it if it didn't work. I'll look into the Zilla one next time I need a thermostat.

Too bad. I have a Kane heat mat and a RHP connected to ours. Works fine. You should be fine with how you plan to hook things up. 28 watt RHP isnt much, plus I’m sure you don’t have the Inkbird set to max out.

How are you going to have a hot and cool zone though?

I keep Redfoots, they don't really need a hot and cold side. I keep the whole enclosure at 84F. The radiant heat panel isn't quite enough to heat the whole thing so I've gotta CHE running too.

Please make sure to never go anywhere near the max load on the inkbird stuff in the future.

I had one that should have been good for 1100 watts and it started a fire at 850 wats. Thankfully the thermostat wasn't in the substrate so it didn't spread, but I came back from vacation and the whole thing was melted. Personally I would opt for a better quality thermostat. The Bayite brand seems a lot higher quality to me.

WOW 1650 volts. You could run a true 20 amp circuit on that

I have two inkbirds that run heat in both my eclosures. One enclosure has a 100 watt CHE and a 50 watt CHE and the other has a 100 Watt CHE, a 28 watt RHP, and a 50 watt CHE. SO far no trouble not even warm to the touch, but I will regularly inspect them to be safe
