I give Kona a variety of fruits and vegetables inside. Today she got mango, pineapple, banana, spring mix and clover.
GREAT!
I just wanted to make sure that you knew what a HUGE variety of foods your Redfoot can eat. A wider variety than any other species. And they aren't real big on grazing.

Took Kona out again. She ate more clovers and grass.
But, she has seemed to stop eating her fruits and veggies inside. It is around 80 degrees F in her tank. Do you think it should be warmer? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I keep my enclosure between 84-86f. I tend to think it matters what time you feed them too. My guy goes outside during the day and comes back in at night. I always fill his food dish inside each morning before I put him outside and he doesn't usually eat anything in the morning but when I bring him inside at dusk he eats everything I put in the bowl that morning.

Her food dish is filled the entire day with fruits and veggies. I think I will try raising the temperature because I have read that tortoises need at least a temperature of 85 degrees F to digest their food properly.

I bought a scale and weighed Kona today. We estimate that she is about 2.5 years old. She is 4 inches and 9 centimeters long and she weighs 354 grams. Is she is growing at a smooth pace? She has no evidence of pyramiding and we just got rid of her shell rot (her enclosure is better now, the substrate is no longer wet) Thanks in advance :)

We are planning to make Kona a "house" to put in her tank. With the added bonus of a second story to give her some extra room. I can't wait until it is done!

OMG I am being cuted to death on this thread. Once I went yellow and red I never went back. These torts have an INSANE amount of personality once they adjust to you being around them. They also become a valued friend. No strings needed. My yellowfoot is my best buddy and loves to follow me around the kitchen on the occasional house romp.
