Definitely some plants, probably some lilies, Hyacinth, and water lettuce.Looking good! I'm guessing you're going to add more plants and visual barriers...
You definitely need some good filtration for turtles, they're really messy. I'm running two canister filters on this that filter 350 gallons per hour each.I know nothing about turtles or keeping them in water, how do you keep the water clean? Is there a huge filter? I found it hard enough keeping a fish tank clean [emoji51]
Put together a new pond for the turtles today. I still want to build a frame around the outside and add plants but it's up and running. My hatchlings have grown enough to live with my juveniles now so I've introduced everyone together. I've got 8 comet goldfish and about 30 fancy guppies right now. Im definitely going to add some more I think. You've GOT to put some fish in there.
Funny you say that, I just planted a sprig of Pothos near the basking log yesterday lolPathos grow in water.
They grow quickly and they're cheap.
They also eat up Nitrates in the water
I had thought about it before but decided to go ahead with it after seeing @ZEROPILOT thread about making fish ponds with them.I really like it, great idea to use one of those pools. I wish I had the space to dabble with water turtles.
I didn't invent that idea.I had thought about it before but decided to go ahead with it after seeing @ZEROPILOT thread about making fish ponds with them.
