Hi all,

I have a 10 year old red foot named Lucy. She was not receiving proper red foot care for a LONG time. I got her a little under a year ago and drastically changed her environment. She is in a tank (which I know is not good) but she is a school pet. I have proper lightening, heat and also soak her. She's well taken care of, but humidity is a problem. It's too low. What can I do to bring up the humidity in her tank?

Cover it up as airtight as possible somehow. Some people use shower curtains or aluminum foil. Once it's covered you just add water to your substrate. It will hold in the moisture and your humidity will stay higher.

I have the dome lights resting on top of the mesh cover. So I cannot cover it completely.

You can Hang the light and heat source inside the tank and set the heat source on a thermostat.

You need a large closed chamber. There is not a good way to modify your existing enclosure for theses purposes and any "tank" is going to be way too small. Use foil or something to cover as much as you can for now, but order or build something much larger ASAP.

I like these: https://apcages.com/collections/terrestrial-cages

Thanks guys, I just ordered Lucy a new habitat :) it should be here next week!

Those habitats are unsuitable for any species or age. To open for a baby, and too small for any adult. You will not be able to maintain the correct conditions in something like that, and the necessary damp substrate will both leak and rot the wood. RFs need high humidity and warm temps. You won't be able to do either in that enclosure. I'd cancel the order if possible. You need a large closed chamber so that you can maintain warm humid air inside and keep it closed off from the drier cooler room air.
