Maybe a predator?I have found 2 eggs thrown about in separate occassions, anybody knows what could be happening?
Don't think so,eggs look recently laid,clean and not broken.Maybe a predator?
Unexperienced female?maybe those are to keep predators away from the nest they might use them as bait.Don't think so,eggs look recently laid, clean and not broken.
Thanks Tom! I have other young ones that aren't doing that,I do have a suspicion which one it is.Young females just reaching maturity will often drop eggs, or egg parts, on the surface while walking around. This is pretty normal. I call it "priming the pump". Getting late for laying this season, but next year she'll probably dig proper nests and lay her eggs correctly.
