Today I received my second "Insta-Hatch" Egg from Tortstork! It's currently settled in my incubator and will be hatching any day now.

It's a Testudo graeca marokkensis (Moroccan Greek), incubated male to add to the two incubated female babies I purchased last season.

There's an unboxing video on my Instagram and Facebook page (both "Sweet Greek Torts"), and here are some pics. I'll keep updating this thread with progress photos as the tortoise hatches and grows... IMG_20190323_192535_476.jpegIMG_5689.jpegIMG_5695.jpeg20190327_103219.jpeg20190327_105216.jpeg

That’s very exciting, I follow him on Instagram and I really like how he gives people the opportunity to hatch a tort. Unfortunately I’m in the UK and can’t get one myself.:(
Yeah, it's an amazing experience for sure. I actually got his very first successful "Insta-Hatch" egg last summer, and now I've received the first Marokkensis egg [emoji6] I'm raising all my Greeks as babies to breed them when they are big enough, so buying these eggs gives me the opportunity to learn "hands on" with tortoise eggs for when my own start laying.

I love Greek torts, I have three myself:). Good luck with the new tort and post some pics on the hatch day. :D

I candled the egg last night, which was a first for me. Even went to Home Depot to purchase an LED Pen size flashlight to make sure I have proper equipment.

The airsac has grown since last candled by Tortstork before shipping to me. Today marks day 68 of incubation, and this Greek subspecies generally hatches between 70-80 days. So this little one will be embracing the world very soon!20190327_200719.jpeg

Last summer I received an egg from TortStork. I didn’t get the insta-hatch but a fertilized egg. I had to wait weeks which was torture but my russian baby hatched early in September. It was an amazing experience. I never thought I would be able to see a tortoise hatch. Now that TortStork has insta-hatch eggs I can’t wait to experience it again and again. Randy was terrific through the entire process. I was a pain in the butt with so many questions. My little guy busted out of his egg in 30 minutes hungry and healthy. You folks who breed are so lucky. It was incredible and I can’t imagine what it is like to see them hatch over and over. The third picture was taken this week. “Solo” is a joy and I still can’t believe I incubated him and watched him come into the world.
