Congrats! Well that solves the mystery of which came first: the turtle or the egg. I'm patiently waiting for FedEx to knock on my door too within the next 2 hours with my "Insta-Hatch" egg from Tortstork.

Beautiful new baby you got there! Decide on a name yet?

COOL! [emoji2] What kind of egg are you getting???

A name just came to mind! Since he is exploring so fearlessly, I was trying to think of a name of a fearless explorer or other naval character. Lord Nelson was a great and fearless British commander, and I like the name Nelson! I also like the name Nellie, if he turns out to be a girl. Besides, the baby's high ridged back resembles the hat that Admiral Nelson wore!!!! :D
So unless some other inspiration strikes, I'm calling him NELSON!!!! :)

((( SIGH ))) I haven't even had this little stinker 9 hours, and i'm already having to make adjustments to his tank because of that danged turtle STUBBORNNESS!!!!
His little faux-rock cave has a doorway in the front and back, and a smaller opening as a sort of window. He goes in and out the doors easily, which SHOULD be good enough, but apparently not: HE WANTS TO CRAWL THROUGH THE WINDOW, TOO!!!! He can NOT fit through the window, but he KEEPS TRYING. He has tried to push himself through twice from the outside and once from the inside. I'm terrified that he'll get himself WEDGED good and tight into that window opening and will get stuck and drown. We are NOT having another turtle drowning in this house!!!!!!!!!!
So I've pulled out the cave, dried it off and will superglue a couple of large pebbles into that opening. After it sits all night, I'll put it back in the morning. (Maybe I should've named him Dennis the Menace!!! :p )

Oh wow he's so tiny!!
Congratulations on your new arrival Bea!!
Thank you, Lyn!:):<3:
Yes, he is teensy- weensy, but is a ball of TOTAL NON-STOP ENERGY! He has explored this tank from one end to the other several times! He has climbed everything in there that there is to climb, including the filter intake! He got into the current jet coming out of the power head and paddled those little feet like mad trying to swim against the current!!!!!
He is a totally adorable little MESS!!!! :):<3::<3::<3::<3:

Or maybe file away the bit between the door and window to make a bigger door.
Sounds like he's quite a handful so there won't be any dull moments watching him!!:)

Joe was exactly like that. If his head fitted through then he assumed the rest of him would too! He never ever worked out that his shell was the problem :D
