Josh is working with a new ad company. It's a work in progress.

If you're having a problem with the ads, ad placement, ad asking you to accept before you can see the forum, etc. take a screen shot and email it to Josh at [email protected].

Yes, whatever the source of these ads, they are very annoying now. The screen pops up and down as they take much longer to load, and they continue to fill in gaps they make between posts as you scroll down. I try to click on something and miss the link as a new ad pops up and moves the screen.

Worst ad display on a website I've encountered. I don't fault the need for revenue to offset expense/effort to keep the forum going, but there must be a balance with keeping it somewhat user friendly!!!

It's the screen jumping around thing that drives me crazy. The new ads take so long to load. I've started scrolling and just when I click where I want to be the screen jumps and I click on the wrong thing.

I do have to say these new ads are terrible, and are making using TFO rather frustrating. It takes 10 to 15 seconds after loading a page to be able to open any links. The screen jumps constantly, and sometimes I have to go back 2-3 to get the right thing to open.

I normally check TFO on my phone, using Tapatalk, which doesn't serve up the ads .... yesterday I used chrome on my laptop and was blown away by how intrusive and bothersome the ads were.

Whatever changes were made to the ad profile should be reevaluated and changed back.

What is Tapatalk and how do I use it?

I assume the screen jumping around is by design since I have on more than one occasion clicked the ad rather than my intended target.
On other sites that use this tactic I immediately close the page rarely to return. I really enjoy this site and hope this gets changed soon.
When I use an ad blocker TF site complains that they need the revenue from the ads and I understand that but, I hate when I need to scroll down through ads to see the contents of the site I came to see, the ads should be secondary not the main focus of the page.
The choice for me is to use the ad blocker or stop visiting the site.

Josh rarely visits the threads. I suggest you send your complaint directly to him (he's the owner of the site) - [email protected]

I have found if you don't sign in and visit as a guest the ads are not as bad. You can't reply but you can still read the threads to see whats going on. I think the jumping is caused by the ads different sizes as they keep changing, if they were the same size or didn't constantly keep changing it wouldn't be such a pain. It's like the ads are competing with each other to see which one is going to be seen first.

I read the forum on my phone on Tapatalk all the time. I like it because you can access all forums you are on in one app. I only belong to two, but it still makes it easier.

Pay a few bucks for the Pro version, and you get zero ads on any forum, or the Tapatalk app itself.

It has been stable and reliable, and only gets updates occasionally.

It's a bummer that as a paying member of the forum, you can't be ad-free, or at least less obnoxious ads ....

Jamie
I don't remember paying anything. But if I was getting those ads I would pay for a premium version to get rid of them.
