Yup I took that pic as I was moving them out of the perlite to avoid any issue ;-)Man that is AWESOME! Look at that beautiful black hat!!! I love it!
I'd get them off the perlite ASAP. That stuff can kill them. Had it happen to a third of a batch of Sudan sulcatas. Necropsied two of them to figured it out. I'd hate to see that happen to these beauties.
False alarm! I was being a worry wart. The plastron which was very uneven completely flatten out after I soaked the little guy for about 30mins. Now looks completely flat and normal with well healed belly. Amazing how much we worry and over think everything sometimesI may need some guidance from the group. One of these little guys has a plastron that’s uneven and I’m worried it’s a deformity. I’ll post pics of it today to get input. Hopefully it’s something that will even out and I’m just being a worry wart.
Thanks, Tom! Dumb luck on my part for sure. Lots of trial and error over the last several years but only made it with the support of the members here guiding me along the way! I’m a big fan of yours...always so helpful and gorgeous tortoises you produce. I plan on getting some Burmese stars soon enough! Those babies are exceptionally gorgeous. Their heads are SOOOO black. Neat O.
